Derek Carr is Headed to The Big Easy

The Saints and Derek Carr agreed to a four-year deal for $150M with $100M in total guarantees. The Saints get their guy while Carr joins a team that actually values him and isn't holding out for a decision from Aaron Rodgers.

The signing actually makes a lot of sense as Carr has a prior relationship with Saints head coach Dennis Allen, who was the Oakland Raiders head coach when the team drafted Carr in 2014. Additionally, Carr is joining a team that has a strong roster on both offense and defense. With Tom Brady no longer in the NFC South, the division appears to be there for the taking.

In the previous season, the team with the best quarterback won seven out of eight divisions, and over the last decade, that percentage stands at 78%. With this in mind, The Saints are in a strong position to take control of the NFC South. It's difficult to imagine any other team challenging them, especially with quarterbacks like Sam Darnold, Desmond Ridder, and Kyle Trask in the division. Despite only being projected to have 0.3 more wins with Carr compared to Andy Dalton 🤣, it's clear that The Saints are the favorites to win the division.

Is UCLA the “breast” team in the Pac-12?!

The talent of the UCLA team is undeniable. The Bruins defeated Arizona 82-73 on Saturday, truly showcasing their potential for greatness.

Having won 10 consecutive games, the Bruins have hit their stride in the latter part of the season, making them a clear front-runner as the Pac-12 tournament commences.

There just isn’t the same depth in this conference as in other places. UCLA and Arizona have the only realistic chance of winning. Therefore, when deciding on a betting strategy, it makes sense to focus on the matchup between the two.

The teams split the season series 1-1, and both could easily make the Final Four. However, I think UCLA has the upper hand in this one. They are a genuinely tough team with a group of dedicated seniors leading the charge. If they win the Pac-12 Tournament, the Bruins would secure a No. 1 seed in the tournament, giving them even more motivation to win. Although it's not the only determining factor, it certainly adds to their incentive.
