Fire Up This RB With CONFIDENCE

Did you draft Zamir White, and are you feeling down about your running backs in your fantasy football league?

Not to worry because we’ve got a Commanders RB who looks like he’s going to be a strong value all year.

I’m talking about Brian Robinson Jr, who looked impressive against the Bucs, rushing 12 times for 40 yards and a touchdown while catching 3-of-4 targets for 49 yards.

We saw the Commanders feed Robinson in the red zone, so there’s a lot of touchdown upside here.

This is a good matchup at home against the lowly Giants in a game where the Commanders may play with a lead.

I’d go as far as to say that I’d start Brian Robinson Jr. over David Montgomery this week.

👀 Fantasy Football Rankings

If you drafted Zamir White, you made a bet on an unproven player who had a strong finish in 2023 and was slated for a heavy role in 2024.

But it’s time to be concerned with White’s usage, as he was out-snapped by Alexander Mattison in Week 1.

We saw Antonio Pierce talk about how they’re going to ride the hot hand in this backfield.

That’s bad news for White’s fantasy value, especially in a tough game on the road vs the Ravens.

This could turn into a blowout, forcing the Raiders to use Mattison more, who they prefer on passing downs.

I would recommend benching White for this week, with no problem playing the likes of Austin Ekeler, Rico Dowdle, and Jaylen Warren over him.

For more fantasy football advice, read our Week 2 rankings. Frank Ammirante finished 12th overall for Week 1 in FantasyPros accuracy. Last season, he was 6th overall.

🎯 NFL TD Props

Jonathan Taylor: First TD (+550)

Taylor projects well for NFL first touchdown bets this week because he has a favorable matchup against the Green Bay Packers.

The Packers will be without starting QB Jordan Love, limiting the likelihood the offense marches down the field and scores on its first possession. Green Bay’s defense also had trouble stopping Eagles RB Saquon Barkley (3 TDs) near the goal line in Week 1, albeit in sloppy field conditions in Brazil.

The other positive thing about Taylor is that he is almost always on the field. In Week 1, he played 43 of 45 snaps (96%) and was the only Colts running back to touch the football.

Given all these factors, Indy’s veteran RB is a good bet to score the first touchdown on Sunday in Green Bay.

 🏈 NFL Parlays

Week 2 Best Parlay (+231)

  • Cowboys ML (-290) vs Saints

  • Colts ML (-162) @ Packers

  • Ravens -5.5 (-191) vs Raiders

My best NFL parlay for Week 2 kicks off with the Dallas Cowboys taking care of business at home against the New Orleans Saints in a matchup of 1-0 NFC squads.

Dallas was a perfect 8-0 at AT&T Stadium in the 2023 regular season, outscoring its opponents 299-127. This defense feasts when it gets a lead, especially at home, so I expect Derek Carr and the Saints to come crashing back down to earth after their 47-point outing against Carolina.

I’ll pair the Cowboys with the Colts, who travel to Green Bay to take on the Jordan Love-less Packers. Former Titans QB Malik Willis will start in Week 2 with Love (knee) sidelined, which history tells us is a good sign for Indianapolis.

The former first-round pick had a 1-2 record as a starter with Tennessee, with the lone victory coming against a Texans squad that had the league’s worst record in 2022. Willis hasn’t proven to be a proficient passer, so as long as Indy doesn’t get gashed on the ground, it should win this game.

Lastly, I’m backing the Ravens to cover this alternate spread at home against the Raiders.

Baltimore has extended rest after playing the season opener on Thursday, while Las Vegas will play its second straight road game to start the year, this time coming across the country. That’s a good scenario for Lamar Jackson and the Ravens to get their first win of the year by at least a touchdown.

 ✅ NFL Survivor Picks

After avoiding the biggest favorite in Week 1, I'm turning to the likely chalk in Week 2.

Backing the Baltimore Ravens to get in the win column when they welcome the Las Vegas Raiders makes a lot of sense. Jim Harbaugh's squad was 4-0 after a loss last season and has extra time to prepare for a Raiders team traveling across the country for a second straight road game after losing to the Chargers on Sunday.

With Baltimore, you're getting the far better quarterback in Lamar Jackson and a team that should be focused after its tough Week 1 loss in Kansas City. The Ravens play the Cowboys, Bills, and Bengals over the next three weeks, so they know they need to take care of business Sunday to ensure this season doesn't fall off the rails.

The Raiders were 2-6 on their travels last season, so I feel comfortable taking the Ravens to win their home opener.

🐅 Bengals vs Chiefs

Bengals vs Chiefs Predictions

Chiefs 24, Bengals 20

If what we’ve seen in the past is any indication, this game should be competitive. Burrow is 3-1 straight up against Mahomes, and all four previous meetings have been decided by three points.

One of the reasons for that is Bengals DC Lou Anurumo, who has made great adjustments to slow down Kansas City’s offense in past matchups. His unit relies heavily on the secondary, which brought back safety Vonn Bell this offseason and paired him with former Raven Geno Stone.

Cincy’s defense wasn’t dominant in Week 1 against a Patriots offense that many expect to be one of the worst in the NFL, but it wasn’t the problem, either. The Bengals allowed an average of 4.5 yards per play and limited New England QB Jacoby Brissett to 121 passing yards.

🎬 Sunday Night Football

Caleb Williams will make his NFL primetime debut in Week 2 when the Chicago Bears visit C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans on Sunday Night Football.

Both teams started their season with Week 1 wins, albeit in completely different ways. Chicago relied heavily on its defense and special teams in a 24-17 comeback victory over Tennessee, while Stroud led a balanced Houston attack to a 29-27 win in Indianapolis.

Ahead of this highly anticipated matchup, let’s examine the latest Sunday Night Football odds and make some Bears vs Texans Predictions for Week 2.

Can Williams bounce back after a disappointing NFL debut? Or will the Texans’ high-octane offense be too much to handle?
