The Dominican Republic authorities are investigating Tampa Bay Rays star shortstop Wander Franco over allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a minor.

The MLB and the Rays have also launched an investigation into the allegations. Franco has been in the midst of a breakout campaign, posting a .281/.344/.475 slash line with 17 home runs and 30 stolen bases in 2023.

In a video statement on social media, Franco posted, “They say that I’m in public with a little girl, that I’m running around with a minor.” He also claimed that “People don’t know what to do with their time. They don’t know what they’re talking about.

Who made the better signing? ✍️

Jets: Dalvin Cook, one-year deal worth up to $8.6M

Dalvin Cook is poised to seamlessly integrate into the Jets' backfield, forming a formidable duo with Breece Hall and creating one of the best backfields in the league. Additionally, this will help Hall in managing the workload as he bounces back from an ACL injury.

Considering the team's genuine aspirations for a championship or, just to secure a playoff spot for the first time since 2010, Cook's presence will bring a crucial veteran element to the Jets' rushing strategy.

Pats: Ezekiel Elliot, one-year deal worth up to $6M

This is the best-case scenario for Ezekial Elliot. He will get a taste of the Patriot way behind incumbent Patriots rusher Rhamondre Stevenson. Hopefully, this will be a restart to his career that he desperately needs.

It will be weird seeing him in a different uniform other than the Cowboys.

10 Reasons Why Chiefs Won’t Win Super Bowl 58 🏆

From THE KING himself, Scott Engel.

  1. Even The Best Can’t Overcome History: No team has repeated as Super Bowl champs in nearly 20 years since the Patriots last turned the trick in 2004 and 2005. New England lost in the playoffs the following season after each of its subsequent three Super Bowl wins, with conference championship and Super Bowl defeats after the first two of those, demonstrating how difficult it is to finish the job in consecutive seasons.

  2. Contention Frequently Leads To Just Coming Up Short: In the last five seasons, the Chiefs have played in five conference championship games and three Super Bowls. They are going to be a top contender again this season. Still, when you consider that they have two Super Bowl wins when making five deep playoff runs, we have another signal that completing the championship feat is daunting for even the best team in the NFL over the past half-decade.

  3. Look Ahead, Not Behind: Many fans base their expectations off what we saw last season, and even some prognosticators do the same. But every year brings us new storylines and breakout teams that can challenge for a championship. Much still must go right for any team to win a Super Bowl, and staying healthy can be a significant part of the tale, as we saw when Kansas City lost to Tampa Bay in Super Bowl 55.

  4. AFC Teams In The Way: Sure, the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills have yet to complete their championship journeys, but both teams are hungry to do so during their possible title windows. The Bengals already beat the Chiefs in the AFC Championship two seasons ago, and the Bills have won two regular-season meetings and lost in an overtime playoff game in the last three matchups, so Buffalo will be primed to try and finish Kansas City off this time. Teams that currently seem less formidable than the Chiefs, such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens, or Miami Dolphins, could also emerge as more significant threats in the AFC playoffs.

  5. The Top Mahomes Nemesis May Become Apparent: The greatest QBs have often developed great rivalries with other elite players at the position. Tom Brady had Peyton Manning as a top rival, Troy Aikman had Steve Young, and Terry Bradshaw had Ken Stabler and Roger Staubach to contend with. This could be the season when Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, or Jalen Hurts might get their chance to interrupt Mahomes’ era of glory and become his prime adversary.

James Harden Will Never Play for the 76ers Again 😳

“Daryl Morey is a liar, and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of,” James Harden said during a press event in China.

It's pretty obvious that Harden's tenure in Philadelphia is finally over, and I understand the reasons behind it.

Back in 2022, Harden's options were either a massive deal to stay with the 76ers or they move on from the star guard. Instead, Harden chose to accept a $15 million salary reduction.

Essentially, we believed that Harden was a different person from what we have seen in the past, prioritizing relationships and a championship over financial gain – a side of him we had never witnessed before.

ORRR

Daryl Morey promised Harden a big contract in the upcoming year if he agreed to a pay cut in 2022. next summer if he took a pay cut in 2022. However, that promise remained unfulfilled, prompting James Harden to openly criticize Morey and the 76ers organization.
