Joey Chestnut Hot Dog Contest Predictions & Props 🌭

Never forget when Joey Chestnut not only won another hot dog eating contest but also choked out a protestor β€” and then went right back to eating hot dogs 🀣🀣🀣. My GOAT 🐐

When it comes to the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, is there even a point in betting on anyone else? Joey Chestnut has dominated the competition year after year, establishing himself as the most dominant athlete in all of sports. Yes, I called him an athlete, and yes, I called the hot dog eating competition a sport. It's both remarkable and a bit absurd that we celebrate our independence by eating glizzies, but that's just who we are as a country and I LOVE IT! Baseball, glizzies, and beer. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

This contest is like the Super Bowl of competitive eating, where participants have 10 minutes to consume as many hot dogs as possible. So, if you're looking to celebrate and enjoy the spectacle or maybe you just want to bet on it, tune in Tuesday, July 4 on ESPN at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Chestnut burst onto the scene in 2005, participating in the Nathan's contest and eventually winning his first title in 2007. Before that, he had faced defeat against the six-time defending champion, Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi. Since his first victory, Chestnut has reigned supreme, claiming the championship every year except for 2015 when he was dethroned by Matt Stonie. With a total of 15 wins and a mind-boggling 1,068 hot dogs consumed in his 16 years of triumph, Chestnut's dominance is simply mind-blowing.

To provide a glimpse of his dominance, just look at his glizzy consumption year after year:

🌭 2022: Joey Chestnut, 63

🌭 2021: Joey Chestnut, 76

🌭 2020: Joey Chestnut, 75

🌭 2019: Joey Chestnut, 71

🌭 2018: Joey Chestnut, 74

🌭 2017: Joey Chestnut, 72

🌭 2016: Joey Chestnut, 70

🌭 2015: Matt Stonie, 62

🌭 2014: Joey Chestnut, 61

🌭 2013: Joey Chestnut, 69

🌭 2012: Joey Chestnut, 68

🌭 2011: Joey Chestnut, 62

🌭 2010: Joey Chestnut, 54

🌭 2009: Joey Chestnut, 68

🌭 2008: Joey Chestnut, 59

🌭 2007: Joey Chestnut, 66

And every year it’s not even close. Just look at the last 2 years and the gap between Chestnut and the person in second place.πŸ‘‡

2022 Men's Championship Results 1. Joey Chestnut: 63 2. Geoffrey Esper 47.5.

2021 Men's Championship Results 1. Joey Chestnut: 76 2. Geoffrey Esper: 50.

I usually like to send out my bets a day or two in advance, but since we all have busy weekends and will most likely forget to bet, let’s do it now before it’s too late. You know how the 4th of July weekend goes, and we will all be lucky to even have our phones by Tuesday. Cheers to that! πŸ₯‚

While it may not be worth betting on the outright winner when Chestnut's victory seems almost guaranteed, wagering on his final hot dog count is quite intriguing, especially this year.

Will Joey Chestnut Beat His Personal Best: Yes (+255)

Chestnut has finished at least 75 dogs in two of the past three years. Although he fell off down the stretch last year, it could partly be attributed to the distraction of a protestor, whom Chestnut took down with a chokehold early in the contest.

Still, would it shock anyone to see Chestnut finish 77 dogs β€” or 7.7 per minute? He was on a world-record pace for the first six minutes in 2022 before taking his foot off the gas and downing just 16 in the final four minutes.

Could he be slowing down? I guess. But when looking at best bets, I want to wager on history to be made, especially at these odds.

Over 73.5 Hot Dogs (-105)

Again, Chestnut has surpassed this number in two of the past three contests. If you think he’ll break the world record then you should also wager on him surpassing 74.

In my opinion, Jack's team takes the top spot by a significant amount. His team is the Joey Chestnut of drink teams 🀣. Second I am going to have to pick Zach just because he picked McDonald’s Sprite - an all-time pick. In the third spot, I'll place Brian, followed by Felipe at fourth. Unfortunately, Adam finds himself in the last position in this ranking. Wtf was the Dr. Browns pick πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Idk I could be wrong lol πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

Best MLB Predictions Today!

Let’s dive in and check out our favorite MLB best bets for Friday, June 30.

Rangers -0.5 F5 (-140)

Since May 8, Jon Gray boasts a 1.97 ERA and 3.22 FIP over 50.1 innings. What is more impressive is that stretch includes a six-run blowup against the Blue Jays.

The 31-year-old holds a significant edge over Ronel Blanco during the first five innings. The Astros right-hander carries a 4.63 ERA and 5.76 FIP over 13 appearances with a 1.51 WHIP.

The Rangers hold a slight edge over the Astros in the bullpen over the previous 14 days, so you could look for a full-game wager. However, I would prefer to keep the variables to a minimum and put our money on a clear advantage in the opening frames, making this our MLB bet of the day.

Giants ML (-130)

The Mets are a trainwreck this season, and so is Carlos Carrasco.

Carrasco has earned a 6.19 ERA and 6.57 FIP over 48 innings, with a 4.6% K-BB rate and an appalling 1.56 WHIP.

San Francisco boasts a .333 xwOBA versus right-handers over the last 30 days and is in a good spot to put some runs on the board early.

Meanwhile, the Giants will send Alex Cobb to the mound.

The 35-year-old is having a rock-solid season, posting a 3.09 ERA and 3.25 FIP over 14 starts. Cobb carries a 10.76 K/9 on the road with a 3.03 xFIP and should be able to outduel Carrasco.

That leaves the bullpens, where San Franciso holds a significant edge over the last two weeks, sporting a 3.18 ERA and 3.43 SIERA, compared to New York’s 4.22 ERA and 5.45 SIERA.
