HAPPY HOME RUN DERBY DAY! ⚾️🎇
Here's everything you need to know including best bets and THE LOCK OF THE YEAR! 🔒
Let’s face it, the Home Run Derby is the greatest All-Star event in all of sports. And honestly, it’s really the only fun one to bet on.
It is putting baseball’s biggest sluggers into a competition where they just hit moonshot after moonshot. It's a showcase of pure unadulterated power, like watching a fireworks display of dingers! No boring pitchers or fielders getting in the way—just pure home run goodness.
Tonight’s Derby will be taken place at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. San Diego Padres All-Star Juan Soto is the defending champion, but he won’t be participating in this year’s event. However, two-time winner Pete Alonso and last year’s runner-up Julio Rodríguez are two of the notable names who highlight the competition… even though they face each other first in the competition. 🙄
Let’s examine the 2023 Home Run Derby field and determine which bets you should consider.👇
Will Pete Alonso win his 3rd Home Run Derby? 🤔

Could Pete Alonso make history as the second-ever three-time winner of the contest, just like Ken Griffey Jr., and clinch his third victory in Griffey's hometown? He's got quite the challenge in the first round as he goes head-to-head with Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez, who put an end to Alonso's quest for a three-peat last year. In a thrilling matchup, Rodriguez defeated him 31-24 and advanced to the Derby finals.
You can bet that the Mariners star will be looking to win it all this time, especially in front of a home crowd in Seattle.
If you want to bet smart, it makes sense to avoid the right side of the bracket when it comes to outright winning. I think Pete Alonso (26 home runs), Julio Rodriguez (13 home runs), and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (13 home runs) are all my personal favorites and all being on one side is trouble and doomed for a betting error.
I think betting on the left side is a smart move with the likes of Luis Robert Jr. (26 home runs), Adolis García (23 home runs), and Randy Arozarena (16 home runs), who all look very intriguing to me.
However, we aren't smart sometimes. Instead, we often just bet on a gut feeling. 🤷♂️ I’m a Mets fan so I have to bet on my man, Polar Bear Pete Alonso. 🐻❄️

If you're looking to play it smart and steer clear of the right side, I like Luis Robert Jr. (+500). He's facing Rutschman in the first round, which is a significant advantage since the Orioles catcher has the largest odds of winning, making him the most favorable opponent.
The right side of the bracket is intense, meaning favorites like Alonso and Guerrero could be knocked out before the finals. Factor in Robert's impressive breakout season, and you've got yourself a solid contender for this year's Home Run Derby crown.
Everyone listen up because this parlay is the BIGGEST LOCK OF THE YEAR. 🔒👇
Let's start with Luis Robert, who's got the easiest first-round matchup going up against Adley Rutschman. To put it bluntly, Rutschman is a bit of a misfit in this field. He’s a terrific overall hitter but doesn’t have as much power as anyone else in this competition. On top of that, history isn't on Rutschman's side, as only four switch hitters have managed to advance past the first round in Derby history. It's looking pretty good for Robert!
And let's not forget about Vladamir Guerrero Jr., who's bound to breeze through his matchup against Mookie Betts. Guerrero might have some unfinished business with the Home Run Derby format, as he SMASHED a staggering 91 homers in 2019, the most in the event's history, only to come away empty-handed. But that disappointment will only fuel his fire this year, and his experience navigating the event will give him a major advantage.
I think this parlay is as solid as it gets. Lock it in and get ready to celebrate some big wins! 🔒🎉

Never forget when Josh Hamilton hit 28 home runs in one round of the 2008 Home Run Derby.
