Josh Allen Absolutely OWNS The Dolphins

Plus: Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Props, CFB Predictions, & Daily MLB Picks

Thursday Night Football officially kicks off with an AFC East showdown between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins.

Each of these teams has Super Bowl aspirations, but if the Dolphins are to contend for the division title, they will need to win this one at home.

The Bills seem to have the Dolphins' number with Josh Allen under center, winning 11 of 13 matchups against their division rivals.

I mentioned my concerns with Miami's offensive line. It's also worth noting that with both Bradley Chubb still out and Jaelen Phillips returning from injury, this pass rush is a question mark as well.

There's a reasonable chance that we'll see a relatively clean pocket for Allen to go to work in this one.

That's bad news for a Dolphins' defense that is still adjusting to a new defensive coordinator in Anthony Weaver after Vic Fangio went to the Eagles.

Take the Bills and the points in this AFC East showdown.

👀 Fantasy Football Rankings

The big question that fantasy football players are facing on Week 2 Thursday Night Football is what to do with the Dolphins’ backfield.

Raheem Mostert is out and De’Von Achane is a game-time decision.

But reports indicate that the Dolphins are optimistic that Achane will be able to play.

If Achane suits up, you need to make sure that he stays in your lineup. I’m not worried about a potentially limited role for one of the most dynamic players in the NFL.

We’re likely to see a bit of Jeff Wilson Jr. and Jaylen Wright in this game as well.

Consider Achane as a Top 15 RB while Wilson and Wright are more desperate FLEX plays.

Find out where the Dolphins RBs find themselves in my Fantasy Football Rankings, which were 12th-most accurate in Week 1 after finishing 6th overall for the 2023 season.

🎯 NFL Props

Daniel Jones is one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the NFL, coming off a dreadful performance vs the Vikings.

But I'm on Over 208.5 passing yards in a great spot against the Commanders.

This is a pace-up spot, since Kliff Kingsbury likes to play fast in Washington.

That can result in more opportunities for the entire Giants offense.

It's also worth noting that the Commanders didn't show any improvements vs the pass in Week 1, allowing 289 yards (9.6 Y/A) to Baker Mayfield.

We're getting a low bar at 208.5 passing yards, so let's ride with Daniel Jones here.

 🏈 Colorado vs Colorado State

Fresh off a disappointing defeat at Nebraska, Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes (1-1) will visit the rival Colorado State Rams (1-1) in the Rocky Mountain Showdown on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Rams, who picked up their first victory of the season last weekend against Northern Colorado, will be eager to avenge their 43-35 double-overtime loss in Boulder last year.

Fading Colorado as a favorite is typically a wise investment.

The Buffs can’t run the football and aren’t great on defense, so they will struggle to put teams away.

That was the case in their five-point Week 1 win over North Dakota State, even though Shedeur Sanders (445 passing yards, four touchdowns) and Travis Hunter (7-198-1) put up gaudy numbers.

That should be the case again on Saturday, so take the Rams and the points.

 🏈 LSU vs South Carolina

The University of South Carolina will welcome ESPN’s College GameDay when the Gamecocks (2-0) host the No. 16-ranked LSU Tigers (1-1) at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 14 at noon ET.

South Carolina earned its first SEC victory of the campaign last weekend at Kentucky, as its defense limited the Wildcats to 183 total yards and contributed a fourth-quarter interception return for a touchdown in a 31-6 win.

Meanwhile, LSU shrugged off the disappointment of its Week 1 loss to USC with a 44-21 triumph over Nicholls State University. Tigers QB Garrett Nussmeier tossed six touchdown passes on the day, matching Jayden Daniels for the second-most in school history behind Joe Burrow.

With the spread sitting on a touchdown, I’m taking the points with the Gamecocks at home.

South Carolina’s defense gives it the platform to stay in the game and dual-threat quarterback LaNorris Sellers gives the offense the potential to create explosive plays.

Arkansas transfer RB Raheim Sanders should also be able to exploit a restructured LSU defensive front that lost senior DT Jacobian Guillory (Achilles) for the season last week.

The Tigers’ defense hasn’t been dominant so far this season, allowing 27 points to USC and 21 to Nicholls, so the Gamecocks should be able to hold their own on Saturday.
