The 2025 NBA All-Star Weekend has arrived, and we’ve got you covered with a complete rundown of everything involved with the event.

It’s a brand-new format this year, with four teams going at it in a mini-tournament to decide the All-Star Game winner.

On top of that, we’ve got a more intriguing Rising Stars contest, since the winner will get to participate in the All-Star tournament!

🏀 NBA All-Star Game Predictions

This innovative format should be refreshing, especially since we're getting two semifinals and one championship, putting it at three games in total. It will be interesting to see if Team Candace -- consisting of rookies/sophomores -- can compete with NBA MVP candidates and superstars.

My pick to win the 2025 NBA All-Star Game is Team Chuck, which boasts two NBA MVP contenders in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic. Add in Victor Wembanyama protecting the rim and you can see why Barkley's squad will be tough to beat.

My finalist prediction is Team Shaq, who has the hometown hero Stephen Curry joined by stars like LeBron James and Jayson Tatum. Unfortunately, I don't see Team Kenny or Team Candace having enough to compete with these two squads.

However it turns out, we should see an exciting competition. It's cool to see how NBA Commissioner Adam Silver continues to look for innovative ways to change up the league.

🏀 NBA All-Star MVP

Stephen Curry (+600)

Curry was recognized as the 2022 All-Star Game MVP for a 50-point performance that saw him make 16-of-27 threes to help Team LeBron to victory over Team Durant.

It makes sense that Curry is the betting favorite this season since the Golden State Warriors point guard will be playing at his home arena. However, we haven't seen a home player win ASG MVP honors since Anthony Davis did so in New Orleans in 2017.

The 11-time All-Star can take over a game with his three-point shooting, so it wouldn't be shocking if he excelled in the first team to 40 format. Still, these odds are pretty steep.

🏀 NBA All-Star Player Props

LeBron James: 3+ Rebounds (+124)

I'm riding with LeBron James to get at least three rebounds because there's a good chance that he'll be facilitating the play for Team Shaq, which could result in a couple of defensive rebounds as he looks to push the ball up the court.

LeBron is averaging 7.8 rebounds per game this season, showing no signs of showing down in what's been a phenomenal career.

Buddy Hield (+650)

Even though Hield hasn't been as productive as other sharpshooters on this list, I can't help but to take him for three reasons.

For one, we're getting a nice price compared to the other shooters at (+650). I prefer to target a longshot with these competitions, so Hield fits the bill here.

Secondly, it helps that we've seen Hield have success in this competition, winning it back in 2020.

Lastly, it's a bonus that Hield plays in front of the home crowd Warriors fans. That could give him the boost that he needs to win this one.

🏀 Slam Dunk Contest

Andre Jackson Jr, Milwaukee Bucks (+650)

I know that it's tough to bet against a back-to-back champion like Mac McClung, but there's no way that I'm laying (-230) juice on the Slam Dunk competition, so we look for value.

I'm riding with Andre Jackson Jr. because he's made some explosive dunks throughout his two-year career so far.

In taking Jackson, I'm sticking with the theme of going with someone who doesn't get a lot of playing time or plays in the G-League (like McClung). Perhaps this competition means more to them -- providing a chance to make a name for themselves among NBA fans.

🏀 Rising Stars

Team Mitch (+160)

I'm riding with Team Mitch as my NBA Rising Stars Best Bet because I'm a big believer in Amen Thompson.

The Rockets' forward provides elite defense with an all-around offensive game, averaging 13.9 points and 8.1 rebounds while shooting 54.6% from the field.

It will be fun to watch Amen play with his brother Ausar, who has also shown improvement, scoring in double figures in seven consecutive games leading up to the All-Star break.

🏀 Skills Competition

  • Team Spurs (+165): Chris Paul, Victor Wembanyama

  • Team Cavs (+210): Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley

  • Team Warriors (+425): Draymond Green, Moses Moody

  • Team Rooks (+425): Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr

Each team consists of two players, all of whom must complete various drills testing dribbling, shooting, and passing ability.

Team Spurs are favorites because you have a future Hall-of-Fame point guard in Chris Paul playing with teammate Victor Wembanyama, who is an all-around athletic freak who can do it all on the court.

But don't sleep on Team Cavs with Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley, each of whom have well-rounded skillsets.

It will be interesting to see what Draymond Green and Moses Moody are able to do in this competition for Team Warriors.

But I'm most intrigued by Team Rooks, featuring a pair of international rookies in Zaccharie Risacher and Alex Sarr.
