FANTASY FOOTBALL EXPERT, FRANK AMMIRANTE:
Derrick Henry has had a terrific career, so it’s no surprise that fantasy football players are excited to watch him go to work with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.
But I’m here to explain why you should avoid Henry in your fantasy football drafts.
This is a veteran running back entering his age-30 season, coming off a year where he averaged 13.7 fantasy points per game (RB15) and put up a career-low 4.2 yards per carry…Read more below for my breakdown of Henry’s new fantasy situation…

The Broncos’ running back has looked great in camp and is currently undervalued due to Jaleel McLaughlin and Audric Estime.
FANTASY FOOTBALL EXPERT, FRANK AMMIRANTE:
…As I was saying about Derrick Henry’s fantasy outlook this season…
While playing with Lamar should boost Henry’s efficiency, the star quarterback will also take away rushing production while limiting targets.
Dual-threat quarterbacks target their running backs at much lower rates since their first move is to scramble rather than check it down.
While Henry should get a lot of touchdowns, so did Gus Edwards, who scored 13 times in this offense last year, yet finished as RB29 in fantasy PPG.
On top of that, as a Super Bowl contender, the Ravens have every incentive to manage the workload of their 30-year-old running back.
Expect to see Justice Hill on passing downs and two-minute situations. Head coach Jim Harbaugh has already stated that Hill will “play a lot.”
Not to mention that Keaton Mitchell should return from a torn ACL later in the season.
Steer clear of Henry at his current second-round average draft position (ADP).
