You NEED to BENCH Dak Prescott In Week 1

Plus: Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Picks, TD Props, & Sunday Night Football

FANTASY FOOTBALL EXPERT, FRANK AMMIRANTE:

Making the correct start and sit decision can be the difference between a win and a loss in fantasy football.

Don’t get caught up in the “start your studs” myth — there is always a situation where you can consider alternatives.

For Week 1, you need to make sure to bench Dak Prescott, who has a tough matchup on the road against the Browns.

There's no reason to start Dak Prescott against a nasty Browns defense. The Cowboys have a 20-point total in this game, which is tied for 25th on the slate.

With QB as the deepest position in fantasy, it's a good time to look for alternatives to Dak.

🚀 Texans vs Colts

NFL EXPERT, GARRETT CHORPENNING:

I expect the Texans and Colts to be competitive in their matchups this season, but it could take some time for Indianapolis to reach its full potential.

The pieces are there, but I need to see them get some more reps before I give them a chance to upset Houston.

Indianapolis also struggled to protect home field in 2023, going 4-5 outright at Lucas Oil Stadium, while the Texans went 5-3 against the spread in road games during the regular season.

I’m on the Texans with the points in this AFC South showdown. Find out more picks below.

🤠 Cowboys vs Browns

NFL EXPERT, JOHN ARLIA:

We’ve got an inter-conference matchup in Tom Brady’s debut as a commentator with the Cowboys and Browns.

These were two of the better Over teams last season.

However, the Browns are handing the ball back to Deshaun Watson, who hasn’t shown the ability to make dynamic throws down the field like Joe Flacco did after Watson got injured.

These offensive lines could also be in for long days against strong opposing pass-rushers.

Micah Parsons will get to attack a Cleveland o-line that is already dealing with injury issues. Meanwhile, Myles Garrett will line up against a Dallas front with a Tyron Smith-sized hole at left tackle.

Unders went 6-3 in Browns home games last season, and the Cowboys offense was way better at AT&T Stadium (37.4 ppg) than it was on the road (23.3 ppg).

See what else I like in Cowboys vs Browns below.

🐻 Titans vs Bears

NFL EXPERT, JOHN ARLIA:

Chicago’s defense was dominant down the stretch of last season, allowing fewer than 21 points in its final six games.

All-Pro CB Jaylon Johnson is a stud, the linebacker group has quality depth, and the early returns on the Montez Sweat trade have been great.

The Titans don’t have the same talent on all three levels, but Tennessee significantly upgraded its secondary this offseason, bringing in Super Bowl champion L’Jarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, and Quandre Diggs.

Both units should have success against offenses that are integrating a lot of new pieces. Plus, these two quarterbacks don’t have much NFL experience, so I’m backing the Under.

🎯 NFL TD Props

NFL EXPERT, JOHN ARLIA:

Bet on Mike Evans to score a touchdown.

Evans has found the end zone in Week 1 three of the last four seasons and gets a prime matchup to make another strong start to the campaign.

Washington allowed the most passing yards in the NFL last season (272.2 per game) and the most receiving touchdowns (39).

While new HC Dan Quinn’s scheme will help bring those numbers down slightly, the Commanders still lack talent in the secondary.

Evans is entering his age-31 campaign, which is usually a time I would be hesitant to buy, but his consistent production speaks for itself.

He had 13 receiving touchdowns last season, nine more than any other Buccaneers target, and clearly has chemistry with Baker Mayfield.

If Mayfield gives his 6-foot-5 receiver a few chances to make plays on 50-50 balls in the red zone, Evans should capitalize at least once.

See who else to target for touchdowns this week.

🔥 Sunday Night Football

NFL EXPERT, JOHN ARLIA:

Given the balance and efficiency of both offenses, this SNF matchup will probably come down to which defense gets the most stops.

Despite its past struggles, Detroit’s unit feels the best equipped coming into the season, armed with new talent acquired via the draft and free agency.

Former Bengal D.J. Reader gives the defensive front an anchor to help stop the run, and the additions of Carlton Davis III, Amik Robertson, and rookie Terrion Arnold should help shore up one of the league’s worst secondaries.

On the other side, the Rams will be playing their first game without Aaron Donald, who will no longer wreak havoc on Detroit’s stellar o-line.
