Would You Cut Your Own Son? ๐จโ๐ฆ
The NFLโs roster cuts were on Tuesday, August 29 at 4 p.m. ET and as we all know, itโs a cutthroat business. ๐ฌ
Every team has to cut their rosters down to a 53-man squad. In Jacksonville, that meant that head coach Doug Pederson had to cut his own son from the team.
Proof that the #NFL is a cutthroat business: #Jaguars HC Doug Pederson had to cut his son, Josh Pederson, from the team todayโฆ
Must of been a bizarre conversationโฆ

During three preseason games, Josh Pederson didn't make a single catch and even messed up on his emergency long-snapping duties.
He wasn't exactly a standout player who was on the verge of securing a spot, but it was still a challenging decision. I must say, I respect the h*ll out of Doug Pederson for doing this. He has the ability to make those difficult decisions you must have as a head coach.
I am so in on the Jacksonville Jaguars this season. They've got a young, hungry squad, a potential star in Trevor Lawrence, the exciting addition of Calvin Ridley, plus, a coach who is willing to cut his own son for the betterment of the team.

Patriots Shock the NFL and Cut Bailey Zappe
Zappe, a 2022 fourth-round pick, not only won both games he started for the Pats last season but also had moments when fans were chanting his name to replace Mac Jones. It was a genuine topic of discussion about who should lead the team as the starting quarterback.
Zappe, in his limited appearances, completed an impressive 71 percent of his passes and threw five touchdowns (along with three interceptions) in just 92 attempts last season.
This is certainly a storyline worth keeping an eye on because it might look like the Patriots made a mistake, or maybe...๐๐คฃ

Alex Cobb was ONE out away from a no-hitter!

Unfortunately, we did not get to see a no-hitter last night from Alex Cobb. However, I like San Franciscoโs starting pitcher today, Logan Webb.
Webb boasts a solid 23.6% strikeout rate this season, surpassing 5.5 strikeouts in 15 out of his 27 starts. Despite the hit-or-miss performance at this threshold, I'm inclined to favor Webb in a favorable matchup against the Reds.
This Cincinnati team has struggled recently, registering a 27.8% strikeout rate in the last 14 days, ranking 29th in MLB during this period. Additionally, the Reds' offensive prowess has been lacking, with a meager 69 wRC+ over the past two weeks.
Given these statistics, it's likely that Webb will pitch deep into the game, providing ample opportunities to exceed the 5.5-strikeout mark. It's also worth noting that Webb has demonstrated better performance at home, sporting a 2.48 ERA, and during day games, where he holds a 2.22 ERA.
Anticipate a standout performance from the Giants' ace in our featured strikeout prop of the day.
