Over or Under for These NFL Teams? 📈📉

PLUS: Philadelphians > New Yorkers 🌃 + worst fantasy punishment you've seen 🧇 + 49ers: where QBs go to die ☠️🪦

Are Philadelphia Fans Better Than New York Fans? 📣

Since August 4, Phillies fans adopted a new approach to dealing with Trea Turner’s struggles. Instead of giving him their normal boos, they would give him a standing ovation. Since this change in fan behavior, Turner has been on fire, boasting an impressive .353 batting average and a 1.007 OPS. During this period, he has emerged as the team leader in hits (24), doubles (6), and total bases (42).

Why did no one ever try this cheering sh*t before?! You are telling me for the last 147 years, this is the first time fans decided to cheer to get a player out of a slump instead of boo?!

I can’t lie, I am also a part of the problem. I am from New York, and I just can’t help booing when you pay a player millions of dollars and he strikes out four times. I can’t help it — sue me. 🤷‍♂️

And all of a sudden the Philadelphia fans come out of nowhere and do this?!?! And it f*cking works!!!

I've been preaching for months that the Phillies were made for the playoffs, and this just adds more fuel to that fire. Something magical is happening with this ball club, and it looks like they are a team of destiny to me.

The answer is obvious… Shohei Ohtani!

What is the Worst Fantasy Punishment That You’ve Seen? 🧇

The Waffle House punishment is a bit overdone, but if your league has the audacity to send the last-place loser to a fancy restaurant with a blow-up doll, I think that really takes the cake. You have to treat the doll like a real person. I don't think there's anything more humiliating. I'm with Lisa Ann on this one; she knows her stuff. 😏

49ers: Where QBs Go To Die 🪦

The NFL world is currently roasting the 49ers right now because of their 2021 Trey Lance NFL Draft trade, especially after Sam Darnold was named the second-string quarterback over him.

While his recent position on the depth chart can be attributed in part to the team's knack for consistently acquiring quality quarterbacks through the draft and free agency, it's also because he hasn't quite lived up to the high expectations the 49ers had when they traded away their 2021, 2022, and 2023 first-round picks, along with a 2022 third-round pick, to the Dolphins to get him. 😬

However, this isn't the reason why San Francisco is where quarterbacks go to die. That’s because they are about to give Nick Bosa a MASSIVE contract and every single quarterback in the league should be aware. He will likely be the highest-paid non-QB in league history.

In every season (excluding 2020 when he was sidelined by injury), he's been stepping up his game, turning into a dominant force for opposing linemen and quarterbacks. In 2022, he had an impressive 18.5 sacks, leading the league and easily bagging his first (and definitely not his last) Defensive Player of the Year award. 🏈🔥 I see an even better year for him in 2023-24.

New York Jets Over 9.5 Wins

If you know me, you know I have to go with the over and truly believe they will hit it. 2024 Super Bowl Champs so the over will hit EASY.

In 2022, the Jets went 7-10 with the worst quarterback play in the entire league. Now, they have one of the greatest to ever do it, a year removed from back-to-back MVP seasons. The team is young, the defense is amazing, and they will be adding Davante Adams in the middle of the season 🤫…so bet the over now!

New York Giants Over 7.5 Wins

The New York Giants finished 2022 at 9-7, and now the line for 2023 is set at 7.5 wins? Seems like they are even better this time around. Some might argue they were just lucky in 2022, but it's equally valid to say they've got a knack for winning.

Under Brian Daboll, this team will continue to improve. He made a significant impact on Daniel Jones last year, and it's likely we'll witness even more improvement in 2023. The receiving corps stands to benefit from the addition of Darren Waller and improved health, which means Jones will have more options at his disposal compared to the previous season. EASY MONEY!

Miami Dolphins Under 9.5 Wins

In 2022, the Dolphins went 9-8, and similarly to last season, they are projected to have the third-most difficult schedule in 2023.

Despite my respect for Mike McDaniels, it's hard to ignore that the team hasn't made significant improvements. The offensive line, for instance, remains a significant concern, ranked 24th in ESPN's pass block rating last year.

Philadelphia Eagles Under 11.5 Wins

In 2022, the Eagles achieved a remarkable 14-3 record, and it's worth noting that they had the easiest schedule in football. This isn't to take away from their fantastic season; I believe they'll continue to perform well in 2023. However, that 11.5-point line just seems excessively high.

Pittsburgh Steelers Over 8.5 Wins

In 2022, the Steelers finished with a 9-8 record. This year, they're expected to have the eighth-easiest schedule, which is notably less challenging than last season.

It's uncertain what will come out of the Kenny Pickett experiment, but he'll likely aim for significant improvement under Mike Tomlin's guidance. Personally, I can't envision a Mike Tomlin-coached team winning fewer than 8.5 games.

Apart from Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, which quarterback holds the record for the most fourth-quarter comebacks of all time?
