A Quick Recap of Everything! 🏈⛳️🏀⚾️
We've got a whirlwind of football action, and it's been tough keeping up with all the other sports. So, let's take a breather and break it down, sport by sport, to make sure you're in the loop with everything sports- and betting-related.
NFL: “A Poor Man’s Matt Ryan” 👀

This Detroit Lions team looks very good on both sides of the ball. Sure, Jordan Love and Green Bay looked bad, but honestly, this win says more about the Lions shaping up as serious contenders than it does about the Packers just being bad.
Jared Goff's performance over the past two years deserves more recognition. He's been the anchor for this squad and is seriously underrated in the league. In the 2022 regular season, he was ranked no. 5 in QBR, just behind Jalen Hurts. This year, he holds a solid No. 6 spot. It's incredible, considering I've seen him ranked outside the top 15 QBs in the league in multiple rankings, behind Justin Fields 🤢, Russell Wilson 🤢, and Daniel Jones 🤢. Goff has proven everybody wrong, even his old team who traded him as a package deal with two first-round picks and a third-round pick for Matthew Stafford.
I mean, it was a good trade for both sides since the Rams won the Super Bowl. But imagine being Goff in that situation, where the team and football fans completely wrote you off. Going to the Lions, who at the time were the joke of the league, and turning the entire organization around—that's true determination. He was pissed off, put in the work, kept his head down, and now the Lions have a genuine shot at doing something special.
That’s a story I want to root for and the reason I am all in on Jared Goff and the Lions! 🏆

Typically, professional golf is an individual sport, where each player competes for themselves. However, this changes during the Ryder Cup, a tournament held every two years where top players from the United States and Europe form two teams and compete for the prestigious international trophy. Unlike regular tournaments, there's no prize money at stake; it's all about pride.
This is probably my favorite biennial golf tournament to bet on out there. 😆 It’s honestly highly competitive and overall just entertaining to watch if you are a sports fan. For this year's event, we'll witness the competition at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club in Rome, Italy.
Here are the teams:
USA Does Bettor 😉 as Underdogs
During major sporting events, the United States has had tough times this year. We were the favorites to win the 2023 Women’s World Cup, and Sweden knocked us out in the round of 16. This marked the first time the women's team failed to reach the semifinals of the World Cup.
The US Men’s Basketball Team was heavily favored to win the 2023 FIBA World Cup, but Canada beat us in overtime to secure the bronze medal. We haven't won since the back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2014.
So, what am I getting at here? As a nation, we don't tend to perform at our best when we're the favorites. When do we truly shine? As underdogs. Think of Rudy, Rocky, the 1980s Men’s U.S. Hockey Team, the Karate Kid, and Tom Brady. What do they all have in common? They defied the odds and emerged victorious. They were underdogs who came from behind and achieved the impossible—something no one thought they could do. THAT'S AMERICA. That's what it’s all about.
Oops, just noticed that they are the favorites to win… LET’S GO EUROPE—WIN ME SOME MONEY!!!! Europe hasn’t lost on their home soil since 1993; look for them to continue that run in 2023.
TGD's Sam Wagman does not necessarily agree. Read why he thinks USA has the advantage in this one.👇

NBA: Damian Lillard Traded To The Bucks
WOJ Bomb! 💣💥
BREAKING: The Portland Trail Blazers are trading guard Damian Lillard to the Milwaukee Bucks, sources tell ESPN.

Honestly, I thought Damian Lillard was taking his talents to South Beach. It was evident he wanted to go there, and everyone expected it with all the hints from Lillard and Jimmy Butler. After 11 seasons with the Trail Blazers and considering everything Dame did for the organization, he deserved the right to go where he wanted.
However, the Trail Blazers did not want to send him to the Heat for some reason. Perhaps there was some bad blood from the past, or maybe they didn't receive a good enough offer. I was hoping to see him in a Heat uniform, but the Bucks will be just as fun to watch.
Trade details:
Bucks receive: Damian Lillard
Blazers receive: Jrue Holiday, Deandre Ayton, Toumani Camara, Bucks' 2029 first-round pick (unprotected), and swap rights on Bucks' 2028 and 2030 picks
Suns receive: Jusuf Nurkic, Grayson Allen, Nassir Little, and Keon Johnson
the work. the discipline. the humility.
thank you, Dame 🌹

The projected starting five is Damian Lillard, Pat Connaughton, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Brook Lopez. THAT IS SCARY! 👀You know I have to do it.👇
