PLUS: Is the NFL RB position dying 📉? DeAndre Hopkins ➡ Titans 👎, MLB trade deadline buyers and sellers 🚨, & Elly De La Cruz bet ⚾️!
NFL Running Back Situation 📉
At this point , just take the RB position out the game then . The ones that want to be great & work as hard as they can to give their all to an organization , just seems like it don’t even matter . I’m with every RB that’s fighting to get what they deserve . http

Monday was a pretty tough day for NFL running backs. With the franchise tag deadline passing, Saquon Barkley of the Giants, Josh Jacobs of the Raiders, and Tony Pollard of the Cowboys were unable to secure contract extensions with their respective teams.
As a result, all three players will have to play the upcoming 2023 season under the franchise tag, which amounts to $10.1 million for running backs. Both Barkley and Jacobs have expressed their intentions to hold out.
Hopefully, Barkley and Jacobs will still play this season even if they are threatening to sit out. Even though they should be compensated fairly, it's a depressed market for running backs right now around the league.
Get this: It's pretty crazy when you compare the average salary of an NFL running back ($1.81 million) to that of a kicker ($2.26 million). I mean, running backs take a brutal beating out on the field. They deserve some fair compensation for sure.
I expect this to light a fire under some running backs in the league and prove that the position is not dead. In the past four seasons, Derrick Henry has surpassed the 1,150.5-yard mark three times, with the one exception being a remarkable 937 yards in just eight games played. While some may believe that the running back position is fading, Henry is undoubtedly an exception to this perception, and he will prove it during the 2023 season.

Most people had a feeling it would come down to the Titans and the Patriots, but honestly, I just can't wrap my head around it. Why join a team this late in your career that won't shake up the league all that much?
Imagine if he had gone to the Chiefs. That would have been awesome to watch and instantly made them even more Super Bowl favorites than they already are. But going to the Titans? It's a move that leaves most people feeling indifferent, to be honest.
Now, don't get me wrong. The Titans have a knack for surprising us, thanks in no small part to their underrated head coach, Mike Vrabel. But let's face it, they're not exactly top-tier contenders, and this move doesn't exactly alter the landscape.
Perhaps Hopkins was just chasing the money, but deep down, I was hoping to see him in a more captivating position with a team I truly care about.

Angels are “listening” to Shohei Ohtani trader offers
Maybe they know something we don’t, but it seems like Ohtani is almost guaranteed to leave the Angels to find another destination. We have only been talking about it since the start of the season. If the Angels want to get something in return from Ohtani, they need to deal him NOW before they lose him in free agency and get nothing. It makes sense to trade him now.
Ohtani himself has made it clear that joining a winning organization is a priority for him. Let's face it: The Angels haven't exactly been winning since they signed him although, there's still a chance they make the playoffs this year. And, who knows, that might convince Ohtani to stick around. But if they don't, chances are he's gone, and they're left with nada. And if they do decide to trade him...
The big questions are where will Ohtani land and what is two months of the greatest baseball player on the planet worth?
Considering he's in the running for the AL MVP, a move to the NL would probably end that dream. So, if he does switch teams, it's probably gonna be within the AL. But you never know, the Dodgers can be pretty persuasive. 😏
The only teams that make sense are the Texas Rangers, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The favorite seems to be Tampa, but Texas and LA will be pulling out all of the stops.
My feeling, however, is that he will not be traded at all. Despite the Angels needing to trade him, I just think he'll end up staying with the team. Teams probably won't be willing to meet the Angels' asking price for a rental, and Ohtani will likely leave in free agency. 🤷♂️
It’s very important to know who is selling and who is buying when it comes to betting. One big name can change a team’s future, so it's key to stay ahead of the game and bet before those odds start shifting. Don't worry, we'll keep you in the loop leading up to the trade deadline.
Buyers:
We've got a bunch of teams on the hunt for talent: Tampa Bay Rays, Baltimore Orioles, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Minnesota Twins, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Atlanta Braves, Miami Marlins, Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and San Francisco Giants.
These teams are all hungry for success and likely to make the playoffs, so expect some moves on their end.
Sellers:
Now, some clubs might be looking to cash in on their top-tier players. Keep an eye on the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Guardians, Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Royals, Oakland Athletics, Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, and Colorado Rockies.
We might see some big names like Nolan Arenado, Cody Bellinger, and Shane Bieber hitting the trade market.
Bubble:
And then we have these teams that could go either way: Los Angeles Angels, New York Mets, and San Diego Padres. These teams are usually known for splurging, but they might just throw in the towel on their sh*tty season. Players like Ohtani, Max Scherzer, and Juan Soto might be up for grabs.
Elly De La Cruz traded?!

LMAO JK could you imagine? This kid is the future of the league and is one of my favorites to watch. Wanted to put him in here for a weekly De La Cruz bet.
However, when it comes to betting, we need to be rational and consider the facts. Right now, he's going through a bit of a slump: only 1-for-19 in his last 5 games. And he hasn't drawn a single walk while striking out nine times during this stretch.
