While I love my coworker Jack Parodi and this amazing video, I must disagree with him here. OK, the Yankees might have one of the best franchises in all of sports, and yes, that probably leads to some very intense fans in the stadium, especially in New York. BUT, let’s say you are a free agent in the fandom market looking for a new team. DO NOT CHOOSE THE YANKEES. It’s overdone. Be a fan of a team like the Mets where every win is better than the next, and every fan you see on the street is a true fan rather than another bandwagon bum.

When the ultimate goal is reached so infrequently, it makes it taste so much sweeter. Yankee fans who constantly say “27 world championships!” ... That’s no way to live.

If you have been a fan of an underdog, you have felt the pain, you know the suffering of losing over and over again not knowing if you will ever win again. Yet, you remain loyal because of your love for the team. Some of these Yankees fans might share this feeling with us, but they will never know the real taste of victory as a fan of the underdog. And because of that, I feel sorry for them.

Don’t be a follower, steer away from the norm into the beautiful sunset of an underdog. It is not an easy life, but it will build character. 💪

DeMar was quoted saying this after the game: “She went viral… I kept hearing something during the game. I looked back and I was like, 'Damn, that's my daughter screaming?'"

He also added that he almost didn’t let her go to the game because of school, but he was glad he did, and now owes her some money. 😂
