We have 13 days until the start of the NFL season, and it might be the most exciting yet. The league is looking like a roller coaster of excitement.
First, we got the obvious serious contenders like the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills.
Then, everyone else is simply searching for a playoff spot, lol. But hey, the young and up-and-coming teams like the Chicago Bears, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and the New York Giants are definitely going to put on a show. Plus, there are teams that haven't experienced winning in a very long time, such as the New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, and the Miami Dolphins, all of whom have a shot at making the playoffs.
Fans who've been starved of hope for years are finally getting a taste of it. There are a bunch of teams and their fans who have a genuine reason to be excited for the upcoming season, and I'm pretty sure most of them are saying, "This is our year!" I know I am!
Well, it's clear that the NFL didn't actually unveil the script. But is this just a smokescreen to divert attention from the actual script that got leaked? Personally, I didn't have access to the script, but a few of our TGD experts did. Although I may disagree with some of it, who am I to argue with the script?! 🤣 Here is everything we know.👇
Spoiler No. 1: AFC East Winner: Buffalo Bills (+120)
The addition of pieces to the offense as well as the presence of Josh Allen make them a tough out for anyone to beat, and getting plus odds at +120 gives me the confidence to take them here. — SAM WAGMAN
Spoiler No. 2: AFC North Winner: Baltimore Ravens (+210)
The Ravens have an improved supporting cast on offense with Odell Beckham Jr. and Zay Flowers, giving Lamar Jackson the best pass-catching group of his career. New play-caller Todd Monken will have them playing up-tempo with more passing volume, so this offense should look dangerous, helping push Baltimore to the top of the AFC North. — FRANK AMMIRANTE
Spoiler No. 3: AFC South Winner: Jacksonville Jaguars (-155)
The Jaguars have the opportunity to do something they’ve never done in this division - win it in consecutive seasons. They’re the only team in the AFC South to have never done so.
The addition of Calvin Ridley is a wild card and the defense is rising, but the step Trevor Lawrence took in 2022 is what brings the most hope. Jacksonville is an ascending team. — JEFF HICKS
Spoiler No. 4: AFC West Winner: Kansas City Chiefs (-180)
Kansas City has won the AFC West in seven straight seasons and with the transcendent Patrick Mahomes still at the helm, there isn’t a reason to see the streak come to an end this season.
The Los Angeles Chargers will surely be a formidable opponent, the Denver Broncos with Sean Payton could take a step forward, and Kansas City lost a few key pieces this offseason – specifically on the offensive line. Even so, the Chiefs own the AFC West until someone proves otherwise.— LANCE PATTON
Spoiler No. 5: NFC East Winner: Dallas Cowboys (+175)
There has not been a repeat champion in the NFC East since 2003-04, and the Philadelphia Eagles will be dealing with some key personnel losses. Meanwhile, there is much pressure on Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott to avoid another season of disappointment.
The needed addition of Brandin Cooks as the No. 2 WR and the elevation of Tony Pollard to a pure feature back will elevate the offense as McCarthy directs the play-calling. The defensive line is formidable and the Dallas secondary may be the best in the NFC after adding Stephon Gilmore. — SCOTT ENGEL
Spoiler No. 6: NFC North Winner: Detroit Lions (+145)
The Lions are set up better than any NFC North team. Their defense is realistically no worse than top-10 with the secondary bordering on elite, while the offense has a smart veteran QB and a receiver with some of the best hands in the league.
The infusion of youth mixed with veterans as offensive weapons is exactly what a team needs to have staying power. Detroit has staying power and fewer questions to answer in the North. — JEFF HICKS
Spoiler No. 7: NFC South Winner: Carolina Panthers (+360)
The Panthers added a potential franchise quarterback in Bryce Young while upgrading their coaching staff with Frank Reich. This is a team with an emerging defense that features talented players at key positions like edge-rusher Brian Burns, defensive tackle Derrick Brown, and cornerback Jaycee Horn. Look for Carolina to play above expectations and win the NFC South. — FRANK AMMIRANTE
Spoiler No. 8: NFC West Winner: San Francisco 49ers (-165)
It is going to be a two-team race in the NFC West between the 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. While the QB situation is not fully stable in San Francisco, as Brock Purdy still needs to show he can build on last year’s magical late run, the Niners are stacked everywhere else.
San Francisco has the best defense in the NFL, and the unit became even scarier with the addition of Javon Hargrave. The offense is flush with playmakers to support whoever ultimately prevails at QB. — SCOTT ENGEL
Kirko “Fu Manchu” Cousins 👨
The NFL isn’t ready for the version of Kirk Cousins we’re going to see this season

From what I've observed this offseason about "Kirko" Cousins, it seems like he's finally found the confidence necessary to excel in the quarterback role, especially in those big games.
As many of us are aware, Kirk struggles in prime-time. However, the guy we're seeing now is different; this is "Kirko." And "Kirko" has the confidence to win in prime-time.
He had the entire offseason to bounce back from that rib injury and fully embrace the "Kirko" lifestyle.
With another year working under Kevin O'Connell's guidance and the best wide receiver in the game, along with the promising rookie receiver Jordan Addison, I think “Kirko” is poised for a career-defining season.
College Football is BACK!!!!!! 🐶
The landscape of college football has witnessed a significant shift in power, and pun intended, the Alabama Crimson Tide are no longer the top dogs. The Georgia Bulldogs have secured back-to-back titles and are now the team to beat.
But let's not overlook the Big 10! Both the Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes have stacked rosters and are ready to make strong bids for the College Football Playoff (CFP).
The 2023 college football season is set to kick off on Saturday, August 26. Some major teams are starting their campaigns, with Notre Dame hosting Navy (in Dublin, Ireland) and San Jose State taking on USC at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Speaking of USC, we'll get to witness Caleb Williams in action tomorrow! Could he become the second player to win back-to-back Heisman Trophy Awards? 🏆
Navy @ Notre Dame
Nothing screams the start of the college football season quite like Navy vs. Notre Dame in Ireland. I’m genuinely excited to watch this new-look Notre Dame squad. They've got a new offensive coordinator and the best quarterback in the portal, Sam Hartman. That combo should seriously amp up Notre Dame's offense, making it more dynamic and explosive this season.
Nonetheless, in a completely new offense and playing in Dublin where it is expected to rain with 10 to 15 mph winds, this is a CLEAR Under in my book.
San Jose State @ USC
Who is excited to watch Caleb Williams? 🙋♂️ Even though it's going to be a blast watching the Heisman winner kick off the college football season, and chances are they'll put on a show, I don't think they'll cover that massive 30.5-point spread.
San Jose State, on the other hand, boasts the best quarterback in the Mountain West Conference, Chevan Cordeiro, along with nine returning offensive starters and a top-notch coach in Brent Brennan. They're up against a USC defense that allowed an average of 27.9 points and ranked 112th in pass defense last season. For me, it's an easy bet. 🤷♂️
