Week 2 MNF: Falcons vs Eagles

Plus: Fantasy Football Roundup, Best Sportsbook Promos, & Daily MLB Picks

GARRETT CHORPENNING:

We'll be treated to a battle of the birds in Week 2's featured Monday Night Football matchup. The Atlanta Falcons (0-1) will take on the Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) on Monday, Sept. 16, at 8:15 p.m. ET.

Atlanta fell in its first game with QB Kirk Cousins, putting up just 10 points against a staunch Steelers defense. Philadelphia, led by RB Saquon Barkley's three touchdowns, held on to defeat Green Bay in Brazil, 34-29.

The Eagles appear to be in position to improve to 2-0, but could the Falcons play spoiler?

Philadelphia opened as a considerable 6.5-point favorite over Atlanta, but that number has come down to 5.5 points since Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) was ruled out.

We're looking at an Over/Under of 46 points, the fifth-highest among all Week 2 games. The expectation is that Philadelphia's offense will continue to roll, while Atlanta should benefit from taking on a weaker defense.

So where should you place your bets in this Week 2 MNF matchup? Find out below.

👀 Fantasy Football Roundup

FRANK AMMIRANTE:

Isiah Pacheco suffered a fractured fibula and has been placed on injured reserve. Both Samaje Perine and Carson Steele are viable pickups, but you’ll have to stay tuned for tomorrow’s Week 2 Waiver Wire column to find out the preferred option.

Joe Mixon is getting an MRI to find out the severity of his ankle injury. If Mixon should miss time, expect a committee between Cam Akers and Dameon Pierce, with the former as the better pickup.

We’ll have to hold our breaths on Cooper Kupp, who will likely miss time with an ankle injury.

Here are some other important tidbits in the Week 2 fantasy roundup:

Derek Carr has now thrown 2+ TDs in seven consecutive games.

Brock Bowers already looks like an elite tight end, hauling in all nine of his targets for 98 yards vs the Ravens.

Malik Nabers put up an insane 64.3% target share vs the Commanders.

Michael Pittman Jr. failed to get to 40 yards for the second straight game — the Anthony Richardson effect.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba has arrived, putting up a 36.4% target share in a career game.
