Week 6 TNF: 49ers vs Seahawks

Plus: CFB Predictions, Best Sportsbook Promos

Thursday Night Football features an NFC West showdown between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks in Week 6.

The Niners (2-3) have now lost three of their last four games, while the Seahawks (3-2) are currently on a two-game losing streak.

While the 49ers are currently 2-3, they can easily be 4-1 right now, as they've blown leads to the Rams and Cardinals in two of those losses.

The Niners are favored here for good reason, as their running game should be able to take advantage against a Seahawks defense that has struggled recently.

The Seahawks have allowed a combined 247 rushing yards to Tyrone Tracy Jr, Jahmyr Gibbs, and David Montgomery in their last two games.

That's bad news against a Kyle Shanahan offense, which is consistently among the most prolific running games in the NFL.

San Francisco also got Brandon Aiyuk back on track last week, so their offense is almost at full strength -- Aiyuk is in form, while Deebo Samuel and George Kittle have returned from injury.

You have to admire how well Geno Smith has played this year, but this looks like another loss on tap for the Seahawks.

TNF Score Prediction: 49ers 27, Seahawks 21

Let’s give you a sneak peek of our Week 6 TNF Best Bets:

Best TNF Parlay (+206)

  • Brandon Aiyuk: Over 64.5 Receiving Yards (-125)

  • Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Under 47.5 Receiving Yards (-120)

The Week 6 TNF Parlay features an Over and Under on two wide receivers.

Let's start with Brandon Aiyuk, Over 64.5 receiving yards.

Aiyuk came alive for the 49ers against the Cardinals last week, leading the way with a 37.5% target share and 143 air yards.

We saw Aiyuk go for 113 yards against Mike Macdonald's defense last season.

On top of that, Seahawks' cornerback Tariq Woolen (76.9 PFF Grade) is likely out for this game, making it an easier matchup for Aiyuk.

I'll finish it off with Jaxon Smith-Njigba Under 47.5 receiving yards.

JSN has gone Under this number in three of five games this season.

This is a receiver with a 7.0 average depth of target, meaning that most of his looks come underneath and closer to the line of scrimmage, making it difficult to rack up chunk yardage.

As a slot wideout, JSN will be mostly matched up with 49ers' corner Deommodore Lenoir, who has a 79.1 PFF Coverage Grade.

👀 Ohio St. vs Oregon

The premier matchup of this week's college football slate features No. 2 Ohio State (5-0) heading to Eugene for a Big Ten showdown with No. 3 Oregon (5-0) on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The Buckeyes enter the matchup with the nation's top-ranked defense, but this will be their most challenging test yet. Meanwhile, the Ducks are looking to strengthen their resume and prove that they're one of the best teams in the country.

Only one of these two heavyweights can stay perfect. Let’s dive in for a sneak peek of my best bets for this matchup.

Oregon +4 (-108) vs Ohio State

The Ducks might not win this game, but I don't think many are expecting the Buckeyes to win in a blowout, either. Talent aside, Eugene isn't a particularly easy place for opponents to play. Oregon hasn't fallen at home since November 2022 — a 37-34 loss to rival Washington.

With that said, the Ducks will need to find a way to neutralize Ohio State's receiving corps. Emeka Egbuka is a well-known talent, but freshman WR Jeremiah Smith has made a ton of big plays and scored a team-high seven touchdowns from scrimmage.

If Oregon can slow down this potent Buckeyes offense, it should be able to keep this game within a score. I'm confident that it can get the job done, so I'm backing the Ducks to cover as 4-point home underdogs
