Too Much Has Happened in Sports in the last 24 Hours

PLUS: The year of the Longhorns 🐂 + AZ Cardinals 0-17⁉️ + Cooper Kupp Fantasy Managers 📉 + "He's back" 🐅 + Update on the Jonathan Taylor saga 🏈

Betting on the Texas Longhorns IMMEDIATELY 🤣

In one of the best stories of the year, a Nebraska man found himself getting pulled over by the police on Wednesday, and his "front-seat passenger" was none other than a fully-grown Watusi bull. Imagine seeing that on the highway lol. You can only imagine what was going through the police officers' minds when they first received that report. 🤣

This bold man was cruising with a MASSIVE bull who goes by the name Howdy Doody.

With the Texas Longhorns set to play tomorrow, it almost feels like it's the year of the Bull... or maybe the Longhorns?

The Texas Longhorns are in excellent position to dominate the Big 12 before their move to the SEC, and with promising quarterback Quinn Ewers leading a potent offensive lineup, Texas is engineered for success. Returning 10 starters and boasting one of the nation's top receiving corps, they're geared up for a great season and a high-scoring, dominant game against the Rice Owls tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Rice's defensive woes suggest they're in for a tough day against this Longhorns offense led by Heisman candidate Ewers and a stout offensive line.

To cover the significant 35-point spread, the Longhorns’ defense will have to show why they were recently ranked by ESPN as a future top-25 defense through the 2025 season.

Texas saw the improvement it hoped for on defense in 2022. The unit rose from 99th nationally in points allowed in 2021 to 27th, and from 102nd in yards per play allowed to 18th. The Longhorns held Alabama to 20 points, TCU to 17 points and shut out short-handed Oklahoma in the Red River game. Veteran coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski seemed to settle in, and Gary Patterson's influence on the defense also showed. Texas loses key contributors in the front seven but should be able to build around junior edge rusher Barryn Sorrell, linebacker Jaylan Ford, senior tackle T'Vondre Sweat and others.

The Cardinals Might Go 0-17 🦗

This is exactly why I love coaches like Dan Campbell, who aren't afraid to wear their emotions on their sleeves. A head coach has to inspire their team with intensity, fire, and genuine passion in their words. If that's missing, it might be better to stick to being an offensive coordinator until you can infuse that energy into the locker room every single day.

Considering the already low expectations for this team, they seem to have hit rock bottom. 🪨

🚨 Cooper Kupp Suffered a “Setback” with Hamstring Injury 😬

Per head coach Sean McVay

Cooper Kupp's incredible 2021 season will go down as one of the greatest receiving years of all time, but his path since then has been riddled with injuries. In 2022, he had a season-ending ankle sprain, resulting in surgery. He missed spring OTA's, because he was celebrating the arrival of a new baby (understandable). And now, he's grappling with a hamstring injury.

Kupp remains Matthew Stafford's go-to target, contributing to more than a third of the Rams' targets in 2022 before his ankle injury. It's genuinely disheartening because he's truly one of the most captivating athletes in the game.

Joe Shiesty is Back! 🐅 #WhoDey

Joe Burrow hit the practice field yesterday, and it felt like a collective sigh of relief after the scare he gave us with that calf injury on July 27.

Burrow reshared a post of him that has been used as a meme all over the internet of him wearing a LeBron James jersey in 2014 that he captioned “He’s back.” 🤣

This guy has to be one of the most liked players in the league. He is genuinely a nice guy, his teammates love him, and he knows how to joke around.

The camaraderie within the team is something special, and I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing what they can achieve this season. I have to say, FanDuel's line on Joe Burrow's total passing yards seems WAY too low.

He has easily hit this in the last two years, getting 4,475 yards in 2022 and 4,611 yards in 2021. Burrow is just getting going, expect him to EASILY surpass this line on FanDuel.
